WELLBEING:
The safety and well-being of our students is our priority. We work on a variety of collective strategies for teachers, students and parents that foster relationships and a learning environment that promotes well-being and safety.
Each of our sections has a deputy director of wellbeing who works hand in hand with the social-emotional counselling team, the academic team and the Parents’ Association to ensure that on all fronts students feel they are in a safe space and receive the support they need to learn and develop their individuality and talents.
SAFEGUARDING AND
CHILD PROTECTION:
More than 10 years ago we began integrating international safeguarding and child protection practices. The aim is to ensure that our infrastructure is safe for students and that the curriculum incorporates the teaching of self-care skills, healthy relationships and knowledge of reporting protocols.
Our employee selection processes ensure that the people we hire are suitable in every way to work with minors. In addition, employees are regularly trained in safeguarding and child protection to provide a safer environment for all our students.
HOUSES
The house system at Anglo is a vital part of life at the school and offers different spaces for arts, culture and sport and opportunities to create lasting connections, foster healthy competition and teamwork.
The Year Cup is the highest accolade a house receives. It is awarded to the house that achieves more points in all competitions during the year. For our students who are about to graduate, there is no greater honour than to lift this cup, a symbol of their dedication and the legacy they leave to their house.

Dances:
The inter-class dance competition is a very important tradition of the school that takes place once a year with national and international dances depending on the grade.

Sports Day:
Sports Day is held annually by Section. Students participate by completing various individual and team physical challenges.

Declamation and Singing:
These activities are held in Secondary by grade once a year.

Debates:
Secondary students test their communication and argumentation skills on selected topics once a year.

The Year Cup:
Each section carries out activities for the houses. Each activity awards points to the winning houses. At the end of the academic year, these points determine which house is the winner.

COMPPLEMENTARY
PROGRAMS

CACMUN
(Model United Nations)
Developed by Harvard University, this model seeks to create an experience in which students can develop their understanding of different perspectives on the national and global issues that surround them.
The model aims to enable students to grow as individuals and seek solutions to political, social and economic problems by putting into practice the principles of contemporary diplomacy and strengthening their research, communication, critical thinking and public speaking skills. At Anglo, students as young as 11 years old can enter the seed programme and prepare to represent the school in the international models in the upper grades of Secondary.

TEDx
ColegioAngloColombiano.
This global model in which we have been participating since 2016, empowers Secondary students to discover, develop and share their most innovative ideas through inspiring talks.
We boost these voices with our annual model where students selected for their ‘idea worth sharing’ receive training in research, structuring ideas and oral expression to present their talk in public and on the official TEDx platform.
EXTRACURRICULARS:
Our extracurricular activities programme offers spaces in which students can develop their talents and find new passions. We offer a wide variety of activities ranging from music, sports, cooking, robotics and many more.
These activities take place before and after school and are an additional space for students to make friends from other classes and grades.
