Students will read and study Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and will pay attention to the continuing relevance of Shakespeare’s themes today as well as discussing the intricacies of the dramatic form as a whole.
The content of the play will lead to discussions and investigations into the pressures people face in today’s society and the major causes of suicide.
Students will also be prepared for the IB syllabus during the evaluation tasks of this final Bimestre of the year.
Summative task
In order to prepare students for the IB syllabus they will be writing a coursework written assignment piece based on the play Romeo and Juliet, This will help give the students an idea of the expectations for their IB Diploma and ensure a smooth transition between the courses.
